Our client, a leader in the Energy and Utility industry is seeking a Director of Human Resources. This position can be based in West Wareham, MA (or Bristol, CT) and will support 9 facilities in the New England region. The role also provides an opportunity to participate in enterprise wide strategic HR initiatives.
The HR team supports a diverse base of employees, geographically spread across US (primarily) and Canada. The HR team is led by SVP of HR reporting directly to the CEO. Working cohesively with its client partners, the HR team supports day to day needs as well as strategic goals of the company.
As a strategic partner, the HR Business Partner (HRBP) aligns business objectives with employees and management within the designated region. The HRBP serves as a consultant to management on Human Resource related issues. Successful HRBP will act as employee champion and change agent. HRBP assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with our HR department and facility/region, the HRBP seeks to develop integrated solutions. The HRBP formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the region and organization. Partnering with the Talent Acquisition team as needed, the HRBP oversees recruitment and onboarding of new hires for the region. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the facility/region's financial position, its mid-range plans, its culture and its competition.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
o Consult with line management providing HR guidance when appropriate.
o Drive change related to the implementation of the Employee Engagement Survey results
o Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
o Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
o Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal department as needed/required.
o Provides performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
o Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
o Provides HR Policy guidance and interpretation.
o Develops employment terms for new hires, promotions, transfers.
o Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, succession planning.
o Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
o Participates in assigned enterprise wide strategic HR initiatives.
o Participates in regularly scheduled meetings with respective business units.
o Participates in evaluation and monitoring of successful talent acquisition and talent management initiatives. Follow-up to ensure program objectives are met.
Position Requirements:
Education and Work
Experience:
o Minimum of 10 years of HR experience including resolution of complex employee relation issues and strategic HR initiatives.
o Strong working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, talent acquisition, employee and union relations, diversity, talent management, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws.
o Relevant industry experience, a plus.
o Experience with multi-facility organization is a plus
o PHR/SPHR Certification is also a plus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
