The Associate Technical Analyst group acts as a liaison between Technology/Systems Engineering, Production, Transmission, Media and Creative Operations. They aid in the design and implementation of new technical areas, help to develop and challenge workflow, and coordinate Operations' commissioning and acceptance of systems. Members of the technical Analyst group consistently concentrate on technological and efficient workflow solutions to complex production needs in Bristol and at remote locations. They cohesively integrate advanced systems to ensure efficient workflow and recommend implementation strategies for new technologies.

The responsibilities of Associate Technical Analyst are listed below, but are not limited to the following:
o Contributes to the planning and execution of technical initiatives to ensure efficient and smooth television operations
o Provides technical and workflow input to long range Capital project planning
o Recommends and participates in training programs meant to improve the competency of the technical analyst staff
o Manages or executes a variety of special projects as assigned
o Works closely with Technical Analysts to provide additional support and to learn new leadership and project management skills
o Is proficient and capable of navigating, editing and releasing system design published documentation of all electronic systems using AutoCAD and is aware of these standards
o Establishes relationships with all ESPN operational staff to understand needs, wants and challenges
o Contributes to the development of workflows that ensure the technical quality of live and recorded programming, as well as coordinated productions and special projects as defined by ESPN Senior Management
o Coordinates the recovery of equipment in emergency situations
o Contributes to the development of standard operating procedures and training strategies that ensure efficient use of all technical resources in assigned areas
o Contributes to technical planning of facilities and necessary workflows to achieve targeted results of internal and external ESPN initiatives
o Evaluates and participates in developing advanced level responses and solutions to complex workflow and technical issues
o Researches new technologies as they relate to technical operations; maintains a current awareness of technical developments and trends in the industry
o Builds important industry contacts and vendor relationships
o Builds professional relationships and open communications with interdepartmental contacts critical to the operation
o Has a comprehension of personnel development, technical resource services and systems integration as they relate to Technology
o Keeps support departments abreast of changes by way of WIKI entries, AutoCAD documentation updates and equipment labels/tags
o A minimum of 3 years of technical broadcast or television/media operations related experience.
o Advanced technical and workflow knowledge in assigned areas, including, but not limited to; audio, communications, systems and production integrations, camera and studio related equipment and infrastructure, creative services, distribution techniques, branding systems and strategies, server based systems, linear and non-linear editing, production control rooms or automated environments, digital media, etc.
o Knowledge and understanding of digital baseband video/audio, fiber optics, digital compression, transport systems, TCP/IP and RF principals
o Ability to work with and provide feedback in order to maintain critical vendor relationships
o Experience supporting production graphic and creative environments, with working knowledge of Vizrt, Adobe, and Autodesk. Knowledge of render farm hardware and workflows.
o A.S. in Engineering, Communications, Television Production or related program from a College, University, Technical School or equivalent experience
o B.S. in Engineering, Communications, Television Production or related program from a College, University, Technical School

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
